Step-by-Step Guide: How to Factory Reset Your iPhone and Restore It to Its Original Settings

 





If you want to factory reset your iPhone without a passcode, there are a few different methods you can try:



Method 1: Use iTunes

  1. Open iTunes and use a USB cord to connect your iPhone to your computer.

  2.  Put your iPhone into recovery mode by swiftly pressing and releasing the Volume Up, Volume Down, and Side buttons on an iPhone 8 or later, and then holding those buttons until the Recovery Mode screen appears. Press and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons simultaneously on an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus until the Recovery Mode screen appears.

  3. iTunes should detect your iPhone in Recovery Mode and prompt you to restore it.

  4. Click on "Restore iPhone" and follow the prompts to complete the restore process.Open iTunes and use a USB cord to connect your iPhone to your computer.



Method 2: Use iCloud

Note: This method requires that you have previously enabled Find My iPhone on your device and that your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network.

  1. Go to iCloud.com on a computer or another device.

  2. Sign in to your iCloud account using your Apple ID and password.

  3. Click on "Find iPhone" and then select your iPhone from the list of devices.

  4. Click on "Erase iPhone" and follow the prompts to complete the erase process.



Method 3: Use Recovery Mode

To enter recovery mode on an iPhone 8 or later, quickly press and release the volume up and down buttons, then quickly press and release the side button until the recovery mode screen appears. To enter Recovery Mode on an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus, simultaneously press and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons.

  1. Connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable and open iTunes.

  2. iTunes should detect your iPhone in Recovery Mode and prompt you to restore it.

  3. Click on "Restore iPhone" and follow the prompts to complete the restore process.

  4. Note: Factory resetting your iPhone will erase all data and settings on the device, so be sure to backup your iPhone data before proceeding with the reset.
